  • Alberta oil production reached over 4,000,000 b/d for the first time in November, reaching a peak of 4,160,000 b/d.

    • This is the highest production level recorded since data collection began in 2010

    • Alberta’s oil-sands deposits represent the world’s third-largest crude reserve

  • Shell Plc. has signed a 20+ year deal to purchase 2 million metric tons annually of liquefied natural gas from a Canadian floating export facility, with the aim of serving energy markets in Asia.

    • The $9.9 billion project in B.C is expected to be operational by 2030
